A 4 Bike Rack is kinda big so I was a bit weary of attaching it to my little hatch back, and yes, the result was rather odd looking. (I seriously recommend attaching a 4 bike rack to a bigger car!!!!) But the good news is that it did fit and carries 4 bikes. Of course the load is a bit heavy, and you must take that into account, but if thats the only car you’ve got and need to get a family of 4 off on a biking weekend, then it really does a good job!

If you are looking for a 4 bike rack look at the review models below which show that some are made for trucks, some for cars, some for SUV’s but please note that none are for spare tires. Some 4 bike racks can fit on hatch backs and others are designed to fit a car with a hitch receiver.

Just make sure you get one that is really secure and sturdy. It seems that the Hollywood F4 got the best reviews in terms of being a tough 4 bike rack. However, this is not a hitch mount bike rack.

There are 2 hitch mount bike racks that top the lists when it comes to a 4 bike rack. They are the Allen and Yakima. More on those later down the page. For now, heres the Hollywood.

If you are looking for something VERY STRONG and durable, then take a look at the Hollywood F4 – 4 bike rack model.

Having those extra straps will come in handy when you have all 4 bikes uploaded because the wheels tend to move and spin about, but those straps help to keep them secure.

  • The Yakima beats other leading brands as the bike cradles come with the rack. With other brands you have to purchase these cradles separately.
  • Its perfect if you looking for a 3 or 4 bike rack. They easily fit but it looks like  it will take some doing to get a 5th bike on it.
  • CON – does tend to sway too much. Consider the king pin model which is the model before the double down.

Topline Bicycle 4 Bike Truck Bed Rack Add a Bike Clamp

This shot below shows the truck with 4 bikes. If you order this product it is actually for 2 bikes. But this is what your 2 bike rack will look like if you add a bike clamp to the Topline.
